30 July 2025 is a night I will never forget. I was there with my fellow Planet Sheila Majid (PSM) members at Pavilion Arena, Pavilion Damansara Heights, for the exclusive launch of Sheila Majid’s new single Moving On, released under Universal Music. It was more than just a music event. It was the beginning of her 40th anniversary celebration, and sharing the experience with my PSM family made it unforgettable.

The excitement started the moment we arrived. We went through registration, signed the backdrop, and took plenty of photos at the booth. Seeing so many familiar PSM faces made the evening feel like a warm reunion. There was also an SM40 merchandise corner at the venue, but most of us had already bought our items online, so we spent our time soaking in the launch atmosphere and catching up with fellow fans.

Then the night kicked into high gear with an electrifying set by Jemput Dengar, who opened the event with incredible remixes of Sheila’s classic hits. Hearing those timeless songs reimagined with fresh beats had everyone moving. We were dancing, clapping, and singing along, completely enjoying ourselves as the energy built up for the main highlight of the evening.

When the MC came on stage to welcome Kak Sheila, the room erupted in cheers. Sheila walked out looking absolutely radiant in her elegant outfit, carrying herself with the warmth and confidence that have defined her 40-year journey. I felt an overwhelming sense of pride seeing her there.

That night, we were treated to an exclusive full preview of Moving On, a privilege only for those at the launch. The song immediately felt like a new chapter for Sheila. It is a bold, dance-driven track with a retro disco touch that had me instantly hooked. We also learned that the single was produced by Hyuk Shin, the acclaimed South Korean hitmaker who has worked with global stars like Justin Bieber and Malaysia’s own Dolla. Knowing that she collaborated with such a renowned producer for this track made the moment even more exciting.

The evening also had its fun and unexpected moments. Our very own GLy from PSM walked away with the Best Dressed (Female) award for the night. She scored big with goody bags filled with official merchandise and even a pair of VIP tickets for the upcoming 40th Anniversary Concert. Seeing a fellow PSM member win and celebrate on stage made the night feel even more festive for our little fan family.

After the launch ended, some of us stayed back and were lucky enough to meet Kak Sheila and her family. Kayda, Megat, Dato’ Acis, and Siti were all there, chatting and taking photos.

That personal moment turned the night into something even more meaningful, like being part of an extended family celebration.

I walked out of Pavilion Arena with my heart full, proud, happy, and excited for what comes next – the 40th Anniversary concert in November 2025!
