Another beautiful milestone in what has already been a truly blessed year for Malaysia’s Queen of Jazz.

There are moments when, as a fan, you can't help but smile. This is definitely one of them.

Malaysia's Queen of Jazz, Sheila Majid, has been conferred the Darjah Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang, First Class (S.S.A.P.), carrying the title Dato' Sri.

I have to admit, it has a really nice ring to it.

A Year Filled with Blessings

Looking back, 2026 has truly been an incredible year for Kak Sheila.

There was the joy of seeing her eldest daughter, Kayda, getting married. Not long after, her son Megat welcomed a newborn, giving Kak Sheila a brand new title that I think suits her perfectly… Glam-mother! 😄

And really, could there be a more glamorous grandmother?

Then came more music.

Whether it was performing on stage in Singapore or continuing to do what she has loved for more than four decades, Kak Sheila has once again reminded us why she remains Malaysia's Queen of Jazz. Her passion for music is still as strong as ever, and watching her perform today is every bit as enjoyable as it was years ago.

And now comes another milestone.

Being conferred the title Dato' Sri is a distinguished recognition of a lifetime of dedication, excellence and contribution. It is an honour that feels so fitting for someone who has represented Malaysian music with such grace, class and humility throughout her remarkable career.

A Proud Moment

I've been following her journey for a long time, and one thing I've always admired is how genuine she has remained despite all the success. She is an icon, yet she has always carried herself with warmth, elegance and humility.

Perhaps that's why this honour feels extra special.
