Last week, during our regular Sunday night fan gathering, Gina suggested that we compare the original Sinaran recording against the newer recording in Japan. As pointed out by our residence historian and collector of Sheila Majid’s memorabilia – Adam, the actual track on some albums and all the streaming services is actually the original recording, despite the fact that the artwork stated differently with Rakaman Terbaru Di Jepun.
With the spark of this tiny idea of comparing these two tracks, it turned into a full-blown playlist. It consists of various versions of Sheila Majid’s own in-studio and live recordings and a bunch of other people’s covers of the track, including some unique interpretations on YouTube.
Due to time constraint, I was unable to play all the cool tracks from YouTube, hence, I decided to share all of them here in a post. Now you get to enjoy Planet Sheila Majid 🪐 beyond our weekly gathering!
This is the playlist from this week’s Everything Sheila Majid 🎶, some tracks are not even available on any streaming services. You’d have to listen to the replay on Clubhouse to get a sample of them.
Below are some of the YouTube covers of Sinaran that I thought are worthy of sharing with you.
Honestly, I was expecting to get tired of listening to the same song one after another within a two-hour timespan, but it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable moments for Everything Sheila Majid 🎶 on Clubhouse. If you haven’t been able to join us on one of our weekly gatherings, please find out how to join us. It’s always fun and fresh! Even we, the organizers, would occasionally surprised ourselves of the things we come up with!
Please let us know if you have a favorite cover or even spill the beans on your least favorite one. Leave your choices in the comments!
