By Jaslena & Lukman
On November 9, 2024, Jaslena and Lukman were fortunate to attend the benefit concert Resonance for a Reason, hosted by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall (DFP) in KLCC. Jaslena attended with Fendi, a well-known friend among PSM members, and Lukman was accompanied by his wife. Jamieson was also spotted and they grabbed the opportunity to take a photo together.
The evening began with a stirring instrumental performance of Prelude D’Lagenda, conducted by Ahmad Muriz Che Rose. The first performance was by Amir Jahari, winner of the 38th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL), who captivated the audience with his rendition of Kenangan, followed by his breakout single Hasrat.
The performance continued with the charismatic Misha Omar, who greeted the audience with her famous light-hearted banter. She started with her romantic ballad Cinta Adam dan Hawa, before mesmerizing the crowd with her timeless hits, Sampai Bila and Bunga-Bunga Cinta.
The excitement among the audience escalated further when Aina Abdul took the stage. With her powerful voice, Aina began with the emotional ballad Puas Sudah, followed by Kamu from her album Imaji. She continued with a captivating medley of songs: Listen, At Last, You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman, Hero, When You Believe, and I Surrender.
The thrill reached a fever pitch when it was announced that ‘sifu’ M Nasir would take the stage. Dressed in an oversized white shirt and black pants, M Nasir commanded the audience’s attention with his iconic song Suatu Masa. He then performed Bonda, and concluded his performance by performing his own compositions—Hukum Karma and Pawana, originally recorded by the rock bands Wings and Search.
The atmosphere was electric when the legendary Sheila Majid took to the stage after M Nasir. Sheila opened with Jentayu, a duet with Aina, before taking the audience on a nostalgic journey with Gemilang. She then delighted the crowd with a medley of Bila Larut Malam and Jelingan Manja.
No performance by Sheila would be complete without her signature song Sinaran. Asking the audience to stand, Sheila took full command of the stage, as if performing a solo concert, and delivered Sinaran—a beloved anthem that has become a cherished part of Malaysia’s musical legacy.
The evening concluded with a heartwarming moment when all the artists united on stage to perform Bukalah Hatimu, a song written by M Nasir and re-recorded by Sheila Majid for her 2004 album Cinta Kita.
It was truly an unforgettable night for the PSM friends, who reveled in a fantastic performance by some of the greatest artists, especially the legendary Sheila Majid herself.
